Week#1
I was really anxious to kick all this off but at the same time, I didn't want to pick something too out of my leauge. No Bake you say? I can do that!! And it turns out I did!! They turned out JUST like they were supposed to (WARNING: This will not happen every time) and they were SUCH a hit! I made sure that we had plenty of compancy over so I could get as much feed back as I could. Most of the feedback sounded like something you would hear on a different planet since all their faces were STUFFED with these awesome cookies! I made about 3 dozen and it took exactly 42 min for them to disappear. Success? I think so.
In fact! They disappeared SO fast that I forgot to get a picture of them to post on the blog! I managed to snap a shot of the last cookie before anyone grabbed it!
Here is the recipe: (Don't laugh... I said I had to start out easy)
No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
Yield: About 3 Dozen
Prep Time: 10 Min
Cooling Time: 30 Min
1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter
2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
4 tablecpoons Cocoa Powder
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
2 teaspoons Vanilla
3 cups Oats
1. Add the first four ingredients (through the cocoa powder) to a 4 qt sauce pan
2. Bring to a boil for 1 Min
3. Remove from Heat
4. Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and oats until smooth
5. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto wax paper
6. Let cool 30 Min or until set
There you have it!
Sounds quick, easy and yummy, and something the kids could help me with!
